Job Description:
Develop and implement strategies for agriculture and livestock development aligned with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Lead design and management of projects related to crop production, livestock management, irrigation, and value chain development.
Conduct needs assessments, market analyses, and feasibility studies for agricultural and livestock interventions.
Provide technical guidance on improved farming techniques, animal husbandry, veterinary services, and pest/disease management.
Ensure integration of climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and environmental sustainability in all activities.
Build the capacity of field teams, community groups, and partner organizations in modern agricultural and livestock practices.
Oversee project budgets, expenditures, and ensure accountability and value for money.
Coordinate and collaborate with government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and donors to strengthen program outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate project progress; prepare narrative and financial reports for management and donors.
Promote gender-sensitive approaches and inclusion of vulnerable groups (women, youth, smallholder farmers, and herders).

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
At least 5–7 years of professional experience in agriculture and livestock program management.
Strong technical knowledge of crop production, livestock breeding, veterinary care, animal nutrition, and market systems.
Experience in project cycle management, donor compliance, and proposal development.
Familiarity with climate-smart agriculture, livestock value chains, and community-based resource management.
Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and build staff capacity.
Strong report writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Fluency in English (knowledge of local languages is an asset).
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, including remote areas.
