Central European University Scholarships

Financial aid is granted on the basis of academic merit and is available for most of our programs (only full-time programs). Please make sure to check your future program's website before you start your application.

Candidates from any country can apply for CEU financial aid. Applicants who want to be considered for these awards must apply by the appropriate deadline.

- Bachelor's degree: High school diploma or equivalent required for bachelor's programs.

For Master's degree:

- A recognized university bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is required.

- Two-year Master's: Minimum 180 ECTS credits or equivalent.

- One-year Master's: Minimum 240 ECTS credits or equivalent.

- Exception: A three-year bachelor's degree (180 ECTS credits) may be accepted for one-year Master's programs, but doctoral study limitations may apply in the European Higher Education Area if credits are below 300 ECTS.

- Enrollment Requirement: Students must not be concurrently enrolled elsewhere without official leave of absence documentation.

For Ph.D. degree:

- A recognized university bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and master's degree (or equivalent) in a related field are required.

- Exception: Holders of a five-year master's degree are exempt from the bachelor's requirement.

- Special Consideration: The Department of Cognitive Science may accept applicants with only a bachelor's degree if it's closely related to cognitive science.

- Enrollment Requirement: Students must not be enrolled in other institutions simultaneously during their doctoral studies at CEU.
