About the Scholarship
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University is one of the world’s most prestigious fully funded scholarships for graduate study. Established to develop a community of future global leaders, the program empowers scholars to tackle the world’s most complex challenges through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to public good.
Each year, up to 100 high-achieving students from around the globe are selected to receive full financial support for any graduate program at Stanford — from JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, and PhD programs. Scholars benefit from world-class resources, a diverse cohort of peers, and specialized leadership development through the King Global Leadership Program.
Eligibility Requirements
Open to applicants of all nationalities.
Must apply to and be accepted into a Stanford graduate degree program (can be concurrent or dual degree).
Must have earned a Bachelor’s degree in January 2018 or later (for the 2026 intake; U.S. military applicants get an extension of two years).
Strong leadership potential, independence of thought, and civic mindset.
Scholarship Benefits
Full tuition and associated fees covered.
Annual living stipend for room, board, academic supplies, and personal expenses.
Travel stipend for one economy-class ticket annually to and from Stanford.
Additional funding for research, academic enrichment, and conferences.

Application Process
Application Process:
Apply separately to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program and to your chosen Stanford graduate program.
Submit online application, including personal statement, leadership essay, and video story.
Provide recommendation letters (usually 2–3).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an immersion weekend and interview at Stanford.
